| “For years, horses have been a part of my life. I grew up on horses and watching the harsh dragging, throwing and basic abuse of the horses around me. I knew there had to be a better way of training, and in my freshman year of college I met a man by the name of Richard Harris who introduced me to the techniques of Monty Roberts. He taught me that horses can be willing partners, instead of a forced work horse, and my life was changed. “I’ve dealt with horses that didn’t trust me and horses and I didn’t trust. The old school methods of horse training involved the use of whips, harsh bits, spurs, shortened tiedowns, martingales and cavessons. We used to try to control, or “make” a horse perform the way we wanted in a harsh manner. Until I learned we can communicate with them using their language. If any of this sounds familiar to you, I can help by teaching you Natural Horsemanship skills and techniques. By implementing Natural Horsemanship skills into my training program, and I can honestly say, ‘The sky’s the limit!’ ” “My personal goal and mission is to reach and help as many horse owners as I’m physically able, to enhance the relationship between them and their horses, thereby creating a special bond based on mutual trust and respect. You will gain a feeling of camaraderie with your horse that you never thought would be possible.” ABOUT MICHELLE GILLES Trainer Michelle Gilles was born in the San Joaquin valley of California, to a farming family who always had horses.
